Konstantinos Andriosopoulos

Dr. Prof. Kostas Andriosopoulos is the Academic Director of the HELLENiQ Energy Center for Sustainability and Energy @Alba—the first research and academic center formally named by a leading energy group within an American academic institution. He also serves as Affiliate Professor of Finance and Energy Management at Alba Graduate Business School, The American College of Greece, and Academic Director of the Executive Program in Energy Business. Prior to this, he held a three-year appointment as Full Professor in Finance and Energy Economics at Audencia Business School in France, where he was also the Founding Director of the Energy Transition & Sustainability Center. For nearly a decade, he was Professor at ESCP Business School, where he served as Academic Director of both the MSc and Executive Master in Energy Management programs and was the Founding Executive Director of the Energy Management Centre (EMC). His research portfolio includes over 50 peer-reviewed publications in top-ranked journals such as Energy Economics, European Journal of Operational Research, Journal of Banking and Finance, and Energy Policy. He is currently Associate Editor of the International Journal of Financial Engineering and Risk Management and sits on the editorial boards of the Journal of Energy Markets and Sustainability.

Dr. Andriosopoulos is Chairman of the Energy Committee at the American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce and a newly elected Board Member. He is also a Board Member of the Global Gas Center of the World Energy Council and the Founding Chairman and current Board Member of the Hellenic Association for Energy Economics (HAEE), the official Greek affiliate of the IAEE, with a recognized international footprint. His institutional engagements include educational and academic missions to Washington DC, New York, Houston, Canada, and Brazil. He has organized and chaired numerous international conferences and high-level panels across Paris, London, DC, NY, Houston, Berlin, Copenhagen, Rome, Milan, Nantes, and major Greek cities such as Athens, Thessaloniki, and Patras. Notably, he is the architect of two of Greece’s flagship energy forums: the Energy Transition Symposium—now in its 10th consecutive year—and the Southeast Europe Energy Forum (SEEF), held annually ahead of the Thessaloniki International Fair and co-hosting diplomats, ministers, and private sector leaders.

He has served twice as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of DEPA (Greek Public Gas Corporation) during the periods 2014–2015 and 2019–2021. During his second term, he was appointed Senior Advisor to Gerasimos Thomas, Deputy Minister of Environment and Energy and later became Head of the Management Team for the Decarbonisation Fund of the Greek Islands under Minister Kostas Skrekas (2021–2023). He was also a core member of the project management team behind the national legislation on e-mobility. Most recently, under the leadership of Deputy Minister of Environment and Energy, Alexandra Sdoukou, he served as a senior advisor contributing to Greece’s strategic positioning and preparation for COP28 (Dubai) and COP29 (Baku), representing the country in international climate diplomacy efforts.

In his corporate capacity, Dr. Andriosopoulos is the CEO and Chairman of Akuo Energy in Greece. In June 2025, Akuo was successfully acquired by Ardian, one of the world’s largest private investment houses with over $200 billion in assets under management. Parallel to his energy sector involvement, he is active in technology entrepreneurship. He is the Co-founder and CEO of Deerrunner.ai, a San Jose–based AI company with operations in the U.S. and Athens. Deerrunner.ai is pioneering agentic AI platforms designed to transform enterprise productivity by deploying scalable intelligent agents. The company was co-founded with Dr. Mike Jamaloukas, former Head of AI at AWS and a seasoned Silicon Valley entrepreneur.
