Spiros Kiartzis
Dr. Spyros Kiartzis is a committed innovator with over 30 years of experience spanning energy sector, oil refining, technology, strategy and operations. He strongly believes that the key to accelerating Energy Transition is pragmatism plus imagination.
He received his Diploma and his PhD in Electrical Engineering from the School of Engineering and his degree in Economics from the School of Law and Economics; all from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and finally his MBA from the Hellenic Open University. Following a period in the construction sector supervising restoration projects on Mount Athos, he served as a part-time instructor at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, the University of Western Macedonia and the International Hellenic University. Thanks to that double background, he gets a broad and global overview of energy related issues.
He joins the HELLENiQ ENERGY Group (former Hellenic Petroleum Group) in 2001 where he held a range of posts in maintenance and project construction sections (including the Project Management Team for the construction of a 390 MW CCPP), before becoming Manager of New Technologies and Alternative Energy Sources. He is the Managing Director of ElpeFuture S.A. an e-mobility service provider (Subsidiary of HELLENiQ ENERGY Group) and Managing Director of Energiaki Pylou-Methonis SA and of HELLENiQ Renewables Aiolika Parka Evias SA wind park owners. He is also member of the Board of Directors of “HELLENiQ RENEWABLES S.A.” (Subsidiary of HELLENiQ ENERGY Group) and has served as member of the Board of Directors of “enerwave” (former ELPEDISON S.A.) and “EKO Bulgaria S.A.” (Subsidiary of HELLENiQ ENERGY Group).
